🎯 The Challenge

Addressing STEM Under-representation

Understanding the barriers that prevent visually impaired students from pursuing STEM careers

Under-representation Crisis

The severe under-representation of people with visual impairment in STEM careers creates a vicious cycle that perpetuates inequality and limits opportunities for social mobility.

Educational Barriers

Limited access to educational opportunities on par with sighted peers directly impacts the realization of UN SDG #4 of quality education for all.

Lack of Role Models

Absence of visible role models and inclusive school environments contributes to continued exclusion from mainstream STEM careers.

Economic Impact

Students lose out on joining India's well-paying IT industry, affecting their economic independence and social mobility.
